Hi,
I’m Javier, a visual artist specialising in post-production, compositing and image creation. I studied Social Communication and, from my early years in Venezuela through my professional career in Europe, communication and image-making have been a constant throughout my journey.
Since 2012, I have worked between Germany and Belgium on projects for advertising, television and film, with Digital Compositing as my main area of expertise.
As a compositor, I combine an artistic eye with a strong technical understanding of image-making and post-production processes. My experience in photography has taught me to pay particular attention to elements such as light, colour, composition and cinematic language.
But my interest in image-making goes beyond VFX. I’m interested in all forms of visual creation, from photography, film, animation and CGI to painting, sculpture, installations and contemporary art.
In recent years, generative AI has opened up a new field of creative possibilities. I have incorporated it into my creative process as another tool, exploring new ways of developing images, concepts and audiovisual pieces, while combining it with the knowledge and techniques I have developed throughout my career.
I believe that tools change, but the essential things remain the same: a good idea, a distinctive eye and the ability to turn them into an image that works.
That combination of creativity, visual judgement and technical knowledge defines the way I work.
